TYPE 60 ROLLER REAMER

Rotary reamer is a heavy-duty design based on a wide range of operating experience of its simplified body construction permits drilling crews to replace parts at the rig.
The reamer body utilises drive-fit hardened reamer-pin bearing blocks. The drilling Crew can easily replace these blocks in the field to maintain the body. No welding or special tools are required to service the reamer body.
A wide range of cutter types is available for most efficient cutting action in all types of formations.

Body Types:
1. Three Point Bottom Hole Reamer. This type of reamer is run between the drill Collars and the bit to ensure less reaming back to bottom with a new bit.
2. Three Point String Reamer-Run in the drill collar. String, this reamer provides centering of the drill collars to drill straighter holes in crooked hole areas. When run in the string, the reamer is effective in reaming out dog-legs, key seats, and ledges in the hole.

INTRODUCTION

The ORS senes reamer is designed to give maximum rotating nouts dcwnnoie with minimum g time change overs of assembtes. This acnieved by rugged but some construction techniques and the addtion of a lubncatted and sealed system that rechargeable

TOOL OPTIONS AVAILABLE

3 Point String
Run in the string to maintain a straight and true weil bore and to ream through fauits such as fev seats and leagges

3 Point Nearbit
Run directly above the bit to ensure imbroyed stabmtv of the bit giving raster penetration rates.

6 Point Nearbi
Run directive above the bit primarilv in badly formed. crooked holes. The six cutters provide the greatest reaming capability available.

Combination Tool
Fun directly above the bit primarily in badly formed. crooked noes
The combination of three cutters and a full coverage sceciaily. designed stabilizer section provide a tool giving both reaming and stabilizing in maximum directional control.

TOOL FEATURES
1. A completely integrat fweld free body ensures unifomity of strength.
2. A harofacing area is applied on both leading and traning edges to reduce wear.
3. With the exception or the cutters all parts of the reamer are flush to the body to maximize tool life reducing areas or potential wear
4. Flutes milled in the body allow maximum fluid circulation
5. The grease reservor is charged after assembly. the design ailowmg subsequent re-charge. A high temperature sealed bearing lubricated assembly is actuated by a spring oaded piston in the spindele.
6. Different gauge sues are achieved by using interchangeable blocks or cutters depending on hole size.

Tool Types:

(i) 6 Point Near Bit
Run directly above the bit primarily in badly formed, crooked holes. The six cutters provide the greatest reaming capability and stabilisation characteristics available.

(ii) 3 Point Near Bit
Run directly above the bit to ensure improved stability of the bit. giving faster penetration rates.

(iii) 3 Point String
Run in the drill collar string to maintain a straight and true well bore and to ream through faults such as key-seats and ledges.

Tool Features:
1) A completely integral (weld free) body ensures uniformity of strength.
2) A hard-facing area is applied on both the leading and trailing edges to reduce wear
3) With the exception of the cutters, all parts of the reamer assembly are flush to the body to maximize tool life by reducing areas of potential wear.
4) Circulation passages milled in the body allow maximum fluid circulation.
5) Blocks, cutters and spindles are manufactured from high grade alloy steels and finally carbunzed and hardened for greater wear resistance.
6) Different gauge sizes are achieved by using interchangeable blocks or cutters depending on hole size.
7) Bearing block design provides an interference and keyed ft between body and block to ensure safe retention.
8) Simple design ensures assembly/disassembly procedures are easily completed on the rig site.

Cutter Types:

Type A: Sharp Cutter
For use in soft limstone and shale formations.
The teeth are carburized for maximum life

Type B: Half Flat Cutter
Used in medium/hard formation. The teeth are carburized.
hardfaced and ground to gauge.

Type C: Button Cutter
For use in hard and abrasive formations such as chert or granite. The cutter features tungsten carbide inserts which act as teeth to fracture the formation
